What Are The Risk?
You are adding code to the block production pipeline so you take on the following risk
-
You miss an attestation or block creation event because of a code error.
- This is unlikely in our view because we have a fallback block builer and with a DVT or merged staking setup, you have a fallback validator to product a block.
-
You earn less than you would have if you'd just run MEV-Boost
- This happens if the preconf network underprices the preconf. Preconf's take up space in the block, so it gives the block producer less blockspace to work with. This is the more likely risk, it can be mitigated by monitoring per block rewards over time and stopping the preconf-module if it is underperforming.
